IIM inaugurates PG prog for executives

SHILLONG, April 11: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong inaugurated its yearlong Postgraduate (PG) programme for executives with focus on Emerging Economies with a ceremony in its Umsawli campus on Monday.
Delivering the address as chief guest, Executive Director, Nucleus Software, Ravi Pratap Singh, praised the evolutionary and the flexible nature of the curriculum of the institute and stressed on the need to enjoy what one does in life.
“If you can’t do what you enjoy, then you better enjoy what you do”, Singh remarked.
Director IIM Shillong, Prof DP Goyal, while delivering his welcome address, emphasised on the need to set a benchmark by the 10th batch for the years to come.
“We produce managers with ethical and human values, wherein sustainability is our core focus”, Goyal said.
Stating that teachers are only facilitators who would create and provide an environment suitable for effective learning, he stressed that the students have to be self-motivated.
The event concluded with 45 participants enrolled for the programme taking their oaths.
