SHILLONG, April 13: Police on Wednesday detained two persons on charges of writing threat mails to Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma and other police and government officials identifying themselves as members of a terror outfit named “Lawei ba Phyrnai”.
After questioning, police arrested one of them while the other was released. Police said the arrested person is the founder of the group.
A senior police official said investigation was on to see if others were involved in the case.
It may be mentioned that the accused had sent a series of emails identifying themselves as group of jobless youths and had demanded the release of jailed HNLC leader Julius K Dorphang while threatening to blow up an LP school if their demand was not fulfilled.
