Pet registration
All residents residing in Shillong Municipal Area will now be required to register their pet dog(s) and obtain dog tags on payment of fees of Rs 200 per pet, according to the Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board. “All pet owners are to ensure that their dogs are not straying in public place/roads. Dogs found without tags will be treated as strays and necessary action will be taken as per Municipal Act,” the Board said.

Sri Sri Sankat Mochan Hanuman Janma Joyanti Utsav will be solemnised at Matri Mandir, Polo Ground Shillong, from 8.30 am on April 16. The devotees have been requested to participate in the occasion.

College prog
The Department of History, Shillong Commerce College, celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti in the College Conference Room, which was also live-streamed, on Thursday. A lecture ‘On Dr. B.R. Ambedka’ was delivered by Prof SN Lamare, Department of History, NEHU, Shillong. Principal of the college, Dr Sabita Sen delivered the welcome address at the programme, which was attended by teachers, non-teaching staff and students of the college.
