SHILLONG, May 6: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday clarified that his recent visit to New Delhi has got nothing to do with the state government but it was regarding the Group of Ministers (GoM) formed under the GST Council.
Stating that people are not understanding, the CM said, “The meeting that I went to in Delhi was regarding the group of ministers that was formed under the GST council and the mandate of the GoM under the GST council is to look at the tax.”
Stating that there was some lack of clarity on the GST tax applicable for betting, casinos, online gaming etc., the CM said that the meeting was completely about the Government of India, adding that he happens to be the convener of the GoM.The second GoM meeting will be held on May 18.
