Woman’s unclad body found in Umiam river

SHILLONG, May 17: A woman’s unclothed body was recently found floating in Umiam river, Mawdun area.
A statement from the police on Tuesday informed that the body, following its retrieval and subsequent inquest, was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital for autopsy.
According to the police, the deceased is approximately 50 to 60 years old and is approximately five-feet tall, and was found without any apparel on.
The identity of the victim is unknown.
Meanwhile, police have also informed that the body, following the autopsy, has been kept for claim at the hospital morgue.
