TURA, May 26: Keshav Agarwala, son of a businessman, Ravi Kant Agarwala and home-maker Babita Agarwala from Tura, felt immense pride in his achievement. He asserted that the same was also true for his parents, grandparents and his teachers.
Keshav, during a tête-à-tête with The Shillong Times felt that the biggest challenges they faced this time was due to COVID and the impact it had on the way education was taken up for the past two years. “There were no classes, only online ones and that was new but it helped me as I had more time for self assessment and worked accordingly,” he said.
Keshav added that there was no easy mantra to success, only regular practice that was required on a daily basis.
“I used to put in about 1-2 hours every day in practicing. A month before the exam, I increased the duration to 2-3 hours every day. To achieve success, you need to keep at it every day without fail,” said Keshav whose favourite subject was Mathematics as he is in love with numbers.
The 18-year-old plans to emulate his uncle Raju Modi (the first CA from the town of Tura) and become a Chartered Accountant himself.
“I want to thank my parents and my teachers for their efforts in my studies,” said the topper on the people behind his success.
The family consists of the parents, Keshav, his younger sister and their grandparents, who all live in the Nakham Bazaar area of the town of Tura. His younger sister is currently in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Tura and will appear her Class XII exams next year.
Apart from studies, Keshav said he loved music, especially of the Hindi Pop variety.
