Miscreants break into BDO’s office, steal over Rs 1L

MAWKYRWAT, June 14: Unidentified miscreants broke into the office building of the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Mawkyrwat located at Mawlangwir village and burgled Rs 1.73 lakh in cash besides stealing other items.
According to police sources, the incident might have occurred on the intervening night between Sunday and Monday.
Miscreants are said to have broke open the almirahs and the safe box of different branches at the BDO office building.
They, however, took only the money and some other small items leaving out other valuable items like computers and tablets.
The BDO, I Lawriniang, has filed an FIR with Mawkyrwat Police Station and an investigation is under way, according to sources.
