State’s active COVID tally crosses 100-mark

SHILLONG, July 2: Meghalaya on Saturday logged 29 fresh COVID-19 cases, pushing the number of active cases in state to over 100-mark.
Out of the fresh cases, 26 were reported from East Khasi Hills, and one each from Eastern West Khasi Hills, Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills.
As on Saturday, Meghalaya has 102 active cases out of which 53 cases are in East Khasi Hills.
A total of nine fresh recoveries were reported during the day.
Principal Secretary of Health department Sampath Kumar has, meanwhile, said as per the nationwide pattern, COVID-19 cases are mild in nature with less reports of hospitalisation.
He also asked one and all to come forward for COVID-19 vaccination, including the booster dose.
