State records 88 cases of COVID-19

SHILLONG, July 24: Meghalaya continues to report a high number of COVID-19 cases with 88 people testing positive on Sunday, taking the overall tally to 94,851.
The death toll remained at 1600 with no fresh fatality being reported in the state in the last 24 hours.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 has gone up to 577. A total of 39 people recovered from the viral infection on Sunday, taking the number of recoveries to 92,674.
Out of the 88 fresh cases, the maximum number of 52 cases was reported from West Garo Hills, 22 in East Khasi Hills, five in South West Garo Hills, four in Ri-Bhoi, three in West Jaintia Hills and two in East Jaintia Hills.
A total of 54 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the state.
As far as vaccination is concerned, a total of 13,03,939 persons have been inoculated with the first dose, 9,52,923 have been fully vaccinated with both doses while 12,263 citizens have taken the booster dose.
