TURA, Aug 11: BJP MDC from Tura and party vice president Bernard Marak was on Thursday remanded to another six days in police custody following a Court hearing in a case in a case related to seizure of explosives from his farmhouse in Edenbari on the outskirts of Tura.
As per information received, Bernard has been sent to police custody under the Explosive Substance Act by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in addition to the 14 days of police custody allowed by the Court in the earlier cases.
Bernard is facing trial over allegations of running a brothel at his farmhouse and the rescue of minors, one of who was allegedly sexually assaulted, besides recovery of arms and ammunition from the same place.
He was arrested from Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh after a lookout notice was issued.
