Local groups receive financial aid

SHILLONG, Aug 11: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai has extended financial assistance to the tune of Rs 7.55 lakh to 15 local organisations for holding various social and welfare programmes for students, youths and general public.
Shullai, who is also the chairman of the Monitoring-cum-Implementation Committee of South Shillong, has extended the assistance, sanctioned under discretionary grant, for the year 2022-23.
The beneficiaries who have been provided financial assistance include Rs one lakh each for Shree Shree Laban Shiv Mandir Durga Puja Committee, Sordar Raid Kongthong and Laban Sanatan Dharmasabha Harisabha, Rs 50,000 each for GourNitai Sangha, Rabindranath Tagore Club, Women’s Teej Cultural Committee, Kench’s Trace Puja Committee, ARPAN Women’s (NGO), Seng Teilang Ki Kynthei Laban, Shishu Mandir Secondary School and Greater Laban Gorkha Women’s Welfare Association, Rs 20,000 for Meghalaya State Kick Boxing Association, Rs 15,000 for Youth Organization on a Trailblazing Society, and Rs 10,000 each for Pynshai School of Martial Arts and SPARK (Bringing Light to Lives).
