SHILLONG, Aug 21: The alumni of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong met at the two-day reunion event ‘Melange 2022’ on the institute’s Nongthymmai campus on Saturday and Sunday.
Alumni across batches gathered to celebrate and remember their time as students at IIM Shillong, and to honour the long-lasting friendships. Many people recounted their entrepreneurial and corporate journeys, while basking in their occasional nostalgia.
IIM Shillong’s Alumni Relations Committee expressed gratitude to Director of IIM Shillong Prof DP Goyal for enabling them to organise the event and for his continued support.
Several alumni attended the event and shared their memories of their time at the college.
While the institute has in the past years held annual reunionsy in different cities for the alumni, this time, IIM Shillong hosted the alumni meet at the institute’s old campus.
Welcoming the alumni, the institute Director cherished the nostalgic moments as he stated that students are the heart of the institute and will remain so even after their graduation.
“IIM Shillong is a family, it values each stakeholder’s contribution to the institute equally. As alumni, students play an important role in this because they add value to the institute by fusing their professional experiences and contributing to the growth of the institute,” Goyal said.
A special cultural evening was organised for the alumni at the Orchid Resort at Mawkasiang where the alumni once again mingled with their batch mates, faculty and other alumni.
