Ri Bhoi MMA fighter wins Indian Series of Fighting

NONGPOH, Aug 23: Mixed Martial Arts fighter from Ri Bhoi District, Johny Nongrum emerged as the champion of the Indian Series of Fighting after defeating boxing champion of Uttar Pradesh, Harsh Singh in the main event held at Lucknow on Monday. With this win, Nongrum will now be concentrating and training for an international Muay thai event scheduled to be held in Cambodia in December. Meanwhile, proud of his laurel, the Khasi Students’ Union, North Khasi Hills District Unit will also felicitate Johny Nongrum at Byrnihat, on Wednesday.
