Conrad to visit Kongthong, take stock of devp

SHILLONG, Aug 28: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will be visiting Kongthong and its adjoining villages in East Khasi Hills district in September with the intention of taking steps for the overall development of the Khatarshnong area.
He made this assurance to Rajya Sabha member Prof Rakesh Sinha who called on him in Delhi on Sunday.
During their meeting, Prof Sinha had apprised the CM about the need to develop Kongthong and other villages which include Mawmang, Myiong, Mawsohmad and Sder. According to the MP, the CM has assured to expedite the construction of the six-kilometre road from Kongthong to Sder.
Prof Sinha has also assured the CM that he will be closely working with the Meghalaya government for the overall development of the rural villages throughout the state.
