SHILLONG, Sep 2: As part of the series of events initiated by the Border Security Force (BSF) to mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, the BSF encouraged schoolchildren and educated them about the recruitment process, pay scale and facilities for various posts in the force.
In the run-up to Teachers’ Day, teams were established at the Frontier, Sector and Unit level, which visited over 65 schools in the border areas as well as in hinterland.
During the events, documentaries on BSF were also shown to the children.
BSF officers and jawans also delivered inspirational speeches on topics related to drug abuse and social abuse.
With the objective of encouraging young minds to contribute towards the overall development of one nation and border areas, the programme hopes to enhance patriotic fervour and empower the future generation to become productive citizens of the society.
