The Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong will organise ‘Nation Builder Award 2022’ at 4 pm on Thursday to recognise the contributions of the teaching fraternity. According to a statement, the programme will be organised at Shillong Club and will be attended by Commissioner & Secretary, Education department, Dr BDR Tiwari, as the chief guest and recipient of National Teachers Award, Rahul S Chatterjee, as the guest speaker. “The award is given at the Club level after a detailed evaluation process which involves the participation of the Principal and the students of each school. Under the initiative, teachers of five schools will be receiving award on the day,” the statement said.

Onam greetings
The All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), Meghalaya unit, has extended Onam greetings to one and all, and has informed that Onam celebrations will be held in Shillong on September 18 at David Hall, 101 Area, Shillong. According to a statement, the programme will be organised in association with Kalakairaly, the cultural wing of AIMA Meghalaya, and all members of the Malayalee community. “All Malayalees in and around Shillong may reach out to AIMA to participate in cultural events planned for the day in the following WhatsApp number 9436119099,” the statement said.
