SHILLONG, Sep 10: Dymmiew locality in West Shillong constituency was on Saturday brought under CCTV surveillance after it was inaugurated by local MLA Mohendro Rapsang.
It is pertinent to note that the project was implemented at a cost of Rs six lakh.
Rapsang, while speaking during the inaugural programme, said the cameras have installed to instill among people a sense of safety and security.
Stating that many localities in the constituency are already under CCTV surveillance, Rapsang informed that he intends to install CCTV cameras in as many localities as possible.
It may be mentioned that even the state government had, few years back, initiated ‘Safe Secure Shillong’ project under which CCTV cameras were installed at different locations of the city.
