Resignation
Working president of NPP state unit (in-charge Shillong City) Anthony N Nongbri recently resigned from the party.Nongbri, who joined the NPP in 2018, had unsuccessfully contested the 2019 KHADC election from Laitumkhrah-Malki constituency. “I tender my resignation from being a member and from all positions associated with the NPP. I am grateful to you and all the concerned persons for giving the opportunity to work in different capacities for the party,” Nongbri said in a letter to NPP Shillong city president.
Ceremony
BBS College will on Saturday organise Graduation Day ceremony for students who graduated in 2020, 2021 and 2022. According to a statement, the programme will be attended by Mawsynram MLA HM Shangpliang and North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.

Women’s College, Shillong, will organise the ‘13th Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Endowment Lecture’ at 2 pm on Monday at the college auditorium. According to a statement, lecture will be delivered on ‘The Indian Awakening of the Nineteenth Century, Its Abiding Ideas and Values’ by Prof Amiya Prosad Sen, Honorary Fellow, Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies.
The Shillong Agarwal Samiti, a city-based socio-cultural organisation, will celebrate Maharaj Agrasen Jayanti on Monday at Shri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture. According to a statement, the programme will be attended by IIM Shillong Director DP Goyal as the chief guest.

The Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission Society will organise a one-day state-level workshop on ‘Early Childhood Development’ on Monday at Yojana Bhavan, Main Secretariat, Shillong. The programme will be attended by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma as the chief guest.
Arrangement
Pohkseh Football ground, opposite residence of MLA Charles Pyngrope and ITI Women’s Hostel Rynjah, has been designed as parking place for parking of light motor vehicles (LMVs) for the faithful attending the instatement of the Provisional Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Pdeng at Pohksesh Presbyterian Church, which is scheduled for Sunday. The ITI field at Rynjah, on the other hand, has been designated as parking place for heavy motor vehicles (HMVs).
