Fest
The fifth-semester students of Mass Media Department of St Anthony’s College will organise Manik Raitong Fest on November 3 and 4. According to a statement, the two-day event will see panel discussions, cultural performance, live concert, photography and art exhibition, among others.

Holiday
The Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) department, has informed that all state government offices, revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed on November 7 on account of Nongkrem Dance.

Foundation day
Dinet Manik Sylem Memorial Higher Secondary School on October 26 celebrated its 22nd Foundation Day by organising a slew of events including dancing, singing, skit, et al. According to a statement, the day-long programme began with the inauguration of the school library by Nongthymmai MDC Latiplang Kharkongor. School principal Drimsibon Kharkongor, who was part of the programme, spoke at length about the mission and vision of the school whilst school committee member Angeleena Kharkongor outlined the genesis of the school.

Programme
A one-day legal awareness programme was organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with High Court Legal Services Committee and District Legal Services Authority, East Khasi Hills, at W Rubyson S/S School, Sohlap, and at Shella Market, East Khasi Hills. According to a statement, awareness on free legal services, fundamental rights and duties, POCSO Act, Child Labour and Child Rights, et al, was disseminated in the programme.
