WKH man convicted of minor’s rape

NONGSTOIN, Nov 2: The Court of the Special Judge (POCSO), West Khasi Hills, has convicted one Santius Lyngkhoi for raping a minor in February 2018 at a village in the district.
According to a statement, following the registration of the matter at Nongstoin Police Station, Lyngkhoi was immediately arrested and, after a thorough investigation, he was tried in court.
He has been sentenced to eight years of rigorous imprisonment. In addition, Lyngkhoi has also been imposed a fine of Rs 30,000.
He has also been awarded one more year of rigorous imprisonment and four months of simple imprisonment by the court.
