Sensitisation prog in WKH

NONGSTOIN, Nov 25: A one-day sensitisation programme of public and media on various provisions of law on crimes against women and children, and POCSO Act was held on Thursday at Trysem Hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Nongstoin.
The programme, which was organised by the district administration in collaboration with the district social welfare officer, was attended by officials and staff from line departments, headmen, NGOs, etc.
West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner LSN Dykes, who was the chief guest during the programme, called upon the participants to disseminate awareness on crimes against women and children.
He also urged the gathering to keep apprehensions aside and come forward for legal help.
