Two-day int’l conference on emerging trends in agri

TURA, Nov 27: A two day International Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development (ICESD 2022) under the theme, ‘Emerging Trends in Agriculture, Life Science and Applied Computing’ was organized by Biotech KISAN Hub, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Meghalaya in collaboration with the Department of Computer Application under the aegis of DBT, New Delhi sponsored project recently at its campus in Tura.
Rongara-Siju MLA Rakkam A Sangma participated as the Chief Guest while Prof. Dr. Uzzal Kumar Prodhan, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangladesh attended as the Guest of Honour in the presence of a host of other dignitaries both from the country and abroad.
Students, research scholars, government officials, mid-career scientists, university and college teachers, policy makers etc participated in the two day conference. There were a total of 75 and 18 oral and poster presentations respectively.
The main focus of ICESD 2022 was to create a common platform to showcase the emerging trends in agriculture, life science and applied computing by resource persons and participants across the Globe to create an environment conducive for the development of local indigenous technologies and innovations and to achieve the deliverables of the sustainable development goals through R&D interventions. Thorough knowledge of environment and sustainable development aspects at the macro and micro level was disseminated by different keynote speakers and participants to build the know-how and provide exposure regarding the recent trends in the field of environment and sustainable development to offer an opportunity to drive new paradigm shifts in Science and Technology frontiers to take policy decisions to come with a possible solution for societal and sustainable development.
