SHILLONG, Dec 1: The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) on Thursday notified that the candidates from Meghalaya who are slated to appear for the online nursing officers’ recruitment exam to be held across eight centres in Guwahati and Jorhat, will be permitted to appear in the rescheduled examination if they are unable to reach their examination centres owing to the prevailing situation in Assam and Meghalaya.
The notification said that the examination will proceed as per the schedule for other candidates.
Meanwhile, NEIGRIHMS Director Nalin Mehta said the candidate who was allotted an examination centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan, has been allowed to appear the said examination in Guwahati after another candidate decided to drop out.
Explaining the situation, Dr Mehta said the nursing candidate had erroneously mentioned her centre as Jaipur while filling up the application form and submitting it online, leading to the confusion.
He clarified that the candidates themselves choose the examination centre before submitting their application.
