NONGSTOIN, Dec 6: The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance has move forward with courage and determination to work for the interest of the people despite receiving bouquets and brickbats in the last four years due to various pressing issues such as COVID-19 pandemic, Citizenship Amendment Act, Inner Line Permit, relocation of Harijans, et al.
Asserting this during a programme in West Khasi Hills, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday made it clear that the government had taken the challenges not for any electoral gain.
The deputy chief minister was part of a programme organised by the PWD (Roads) for the inauguration of the Office of the Executive Engineer Mawshynrut PWD (Roads) Division, Shallang PWD (Roads) Sub-Division, and the construction and upgrade of a 12-km road from Thaiem to Mawsyrtap.
Tynsong, in his address, expressed hope that the newly created offices will cater to the needs of the people who, he said, will no longer have to undertake arduous journey all the way to Nongstoin for any official work.
He also asked the support and cooperation from the general public for successful implementation of government schemes and programmes.
