Sohra marathon
The first Sohra International Half Marathon will be flagged off at 7 am on Wednesday. It is being organised by the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs in collaboration with Meghalaya State Olympic Association. The marathon starts from Laitsohpliah village (6 km ahead of Mawkdok Bridge, and proceed towards Lad Mawphlang, Sohra Rim, Mawmihthied, Laitryngew, Khlieh Shnong, Pdeng Shnong, Pomsohmen, Nongsawlia, Saitsohpen, Mawsmai (Nohsngithiang view point), and culminate at Sohra covering a total distance of little over 21 km.
Awareness
The Department of Telecommunications North East Licensed Service Area (LSA) unit will organise next virtual meet on Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) at 11:30 am on December 28 for increased awareness of all existing and prospective stakeholders. In this regard, interested existing/prospective PDOs/PDOAs/citizens have been asked to submit their willingness to join along with suggestions/feedback at [email protected].
Computer course
The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous scientific society under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MoE&IT), inaugurated its free computer course programmes for the students of Buddha Bhanu Saraswati College. A total of 120 students have been selected for the two-month course, which is likely to commence from January.
