Programme
All Meghalaya State Electricity Board Employees Staff Union, under the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL), celebrated its silver jubilee at Jaiaw Shyiap and Lumpyllon on December 16. On the occasion, MeECL CMD Sanjay Goyal released the souvenir of the union in the presence of Director of Corporate Affairs, Dipsambor Hynniewta.
Christmas carol
Arts and Culture Minister Sanbor Shullai and the Monitoring-cum-Implementation Committee (MCIC) 19th South Shillong will organise Christmas carol at 3 pm on Friday from the RLSSCO Community Hall.
Education
The education of 100 children from low-income families from North Shillong constituency will be sponsored for 2023 by North Shillong Mandal. The children were selected during a programme which was organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and BJP Mahila of North Shillong Mandal. The programme was also attended by BJP state executive member M Kharkrang.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has designated four MLAs, viz. HM Shangpliang, Ferlin CA Sangma, Samuel Sangma and Benedic R Marak as spokespersons of the party.
Directive
The West Garo Hills District Magistrate has directed all the residents under the jurisdiction of Tura municipality to immediately start the practice of waste segregation at the household level by separating the wet and dry waste from households. “The Chief Executive Officer, Tura Municipal Board, is directed to ensure that all the garbage collection vehicles should have separate compartments for dry and wet waste so that further segregation and recycling can be done at the collection centre,” the notification issued in this regard said.
