Alternative routes for SPTS buses

SHILLONG, Dec 22: The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has announced alternative routes for Shillong Public Transport Service (SPTS) buses in a bid to ease traffic congestion.
According to East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger, the plying of SPTS buses towards Police Bazar and Motphran will be restricted on a trial basis from Friday.
The buses coming from Mawlai, Polo, NEIGRIHMS areas and wanting to proceed towards Police Bazar via CS junction IGP point, Kachari junction will be diverted at IGP point towards Barik, it was informed.
On the other hand, buses coming from the highway i.e., Nongthymmai, Laitumkhrah or from Mawlai via Shillong Civil Hospital, and wanting to go to Police Bazar towards via IGP point and Kachari point will be diverted at Kachari point towards Raj Bhavan and beyond.
