Cousins murder man in EJH; head split into two with dao

SHILLONG, Jan 7: In a gruesome incident reported from East Jaintia Hills, a man was allegedly hacked to death by two of his cousin brothers, who admitted to committing the crime.
Police have arrested the duo.
In a statement, East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police Jagpal Singh Dhanoa said the man’s head was smashed using sharp objects and split in two portions.
On January 6, telephonic information was received from a locality in Mooriap village informing that one Raju Yndoh was suspected to have been murdered at Jalaphet Bri-Sumer while he was travelling in a car with his cousin brothers.
On being informed, police personnel from Umpleng Outpost rushed to the spot and found the body of man on the road.
Police also recovered the weapon of commission, a dao, which was broken into two parts, during inspection.
During preliminary inquiry and questioning of one of the two cousins, Donbor Yndoh, police discerned that his trouser and his shoes were covered in blood.
On suspicion, Janki Yndoh, the other cousin brother, was also picked up and they were brought to Khliehriat Police Station for safe custody and interrogation.
During interrogation, the duo admitted to have committed the crime, and were arrested. In this connection, a case is being registered at Saipung Police Station and investigation is under way.
