Foundation laid for PHC in Lumparing

SHILLONG, Jan 15: Local MLA and Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai, on Saturday, laid the foundation stone for construction of the ‘Urban Primary Health Centre’ at Lumparing which will cater to the healthcare needs of the public, especially in Greater Lumparing area.
The project is worth Rs 5 crore and has been sanctioned under the Special Plan Assistance (SPA) scheme 2022-23 on recommendation of the local MLA.
During his address, Shullai assured the gathering that the implementation of the project will begin without any delay even as he said he wants this project to be completed at the earliest.
The cabinet minister also thanked the Dorbar Shnong of Lower Lumparing and Lumparing Sports Club for donating land for construction of the PHC.
He also lauded the efforts of officials of the Health department, besides the active participation of the locals.
Others who were present during the base laying ceremony include Rangbah Shnong of Lower Lumparing, Doncaster Shabong, Rangbah Shnong of Upper Lumparing, HB Wahlang, Rangbah Shnong of Kynjat Phutbol-Riat Laban, Shaiphar Wahlang, among others.
