NONGPOH, Jan 25: Four persons including the driver of a vehicle (ML05 AB 9933) sustained injures after it collided with a truck (NL01 N 6449) on NH-6 at Dulongnar in Ri-Bhoi district around 6:45 am of Wednesday.
The injured occupants of the vehicle were immediately shifted to Bethany Hospital by an ambulance for treatment.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the truck was driving on the right side of the road instead of traditional left and in a rash manner which then resulted in the collision. The vehicle was heavily damaged in the incident.
The vehicle was proceeding towards Guwahati from Shillong and the truck was headed towards Shillong when the incident happened.
It may be noted here that due to the road renovation by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), all vehicles plying from Shillong to Guwahati have been diverted from the median opening of the NH-6 from Umdihar till Dulongnar and vehicles plying from Guwahati towards Assam were also made to move in the same lane.
