Pharmaceutical firm inks MoU with USTM for research

Guwahati, Feb 3: Ozone Pharmaceuticals Limited, a New Delhi-based company with one of its ultramodern and high-tech manufacturing units in Amingaon near here, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) for research and collaboration.

The MoU was signed by Deepak Kumar Singh, director, Ozone Pharmaceuticals Limited and G.D Sharma, vice-chancellor, USTM, in the presence of R.K Sharma, advisor, USTM and other high officials on Friday.

The signatories have identified the areas of collaboration.

Ozone director Singh has agreed to extend the latest facilities available in Guwahati and New Delhi for research collaboration.

USTM will be sending students for training and placement at Ozone Pharmaceuticals Limited.

According to the pact, both institutions will work collaboratively by launching joint research activities, including the exchange of faculty members and research personnel.

The collaboration will be there in various forms with civil society organisations, the introduction of value-added courses/programmes, add-on courses directed towards skill enhancement, exchange of academic and other publications, organisation of joint conferences, online conferences, seminars and academic meetings.

There will be internship programmes, panel discussions and mentorship sessions for the students in industry project work.
