SHILLONG, Feb 3: KHNAM will not field any candidate for the February 27 Assembly polls in the state.
Party’s vice president Thomas Passah said the decision was taken during the CEC meeting held on Monday.
“We examined the applications of nine ticket aspirants. We felt it is not right to field candidates just for the sake of it. We have to analyse the party’s strength at the grassroots level,” he said.
The party will focus on strengthening itself and prepare the groundwork for future elections, he added.
