SHILLONG, Feb 5: A host of political bigwigs will file their papers on the penultimate day of filing of nominations on Monday.
Prominent among them are Opposition leader and TMC candidate Mukul Sangma, Assembly Speaker and UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh and TMC state president Charles Pyngrope.
Mukul Sangma will file his nomination from Songsak on Monday and from Tikrikilla on Tuesday.
Metbah will file his nomination from Mairang constituency while Pyngrope will file his papers from Nongthymmai.
PDF candidate Banteidor Lyngdoh will file his nomination from Mawkynrew, NPP’s Hamletson Dohling will file his nomination from Mylliem while BJP’s AL Hek will file his papers from Pynthorumkhrah.
UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh will also be filing his nomination from Nongthymmai seat.
No nominations were filed on Sunday.
Till Saturday, a total number of 169 candidates have filed their nominations for the 60 Assembly seats.
