SHILLONG, Feb 12: The East Khasi Hills district unit of the TMC has termed the statement of BJP national general secretary Rituraj Sinha as a “mere propaganda” to fool the electorate while keeping quiet on the CBI inquiry on Mukhroh shooting in which five precious lives were lost.
The party lambasted the BJP leader for mixing up issues of larger interests while ignoring some basic questions.
“Why no action was taken by the BJP to curb fringe fundamentalist elements aligned with its party who speak of violence and intimidation against minorities and especially attacks in places of worship? What has happened to that directive of the Assam government to initiate a survey of Christians in that state, or is it a tool to be used at a later stage?” TMC’s district unit chief, Dominic S Wankhar said.
He also questioned as to why the BJP has not dared to seek a report on the alleged cases of irregularities in the state.
