SCL First Division: Sunrise demolish Nongthymmai

Shillong, Feb 21: Sunrise CC defeated Nongthymmai SCC by a massive 151-run margin in the Shillong Cricket League First Division match in MCA Polo ground on Tuesday. Sent in to bat first, Sunrise made an impressive 301/7 in the allotted 35 overs. Basant Chettri (68 runs off 65 balls) and Bishnu Mahato (57 runs off 39 balls) top scored for Sunrise. For Nongthymmai, Kunal Lama and Prem Lama claimed two wickets each while giving away 33 runs and 67 runs respectively. In response, Nongthymmai could manage to score only 150/10. Sandeep Chanda top scored with 43 runs in 57 balls, while Shyam S Pachar (16 runs in 18 balls) was the second best scorer for Nongthymmai. For Sunrise, Basu Chettri (4/16) and Bhuwan Thapa (2/13)were the pick of the bowlers. Basant was adjudged the Player of the Match for his performance with the bat.
