Dak Adalat
A circle-level Dak Adalat will be held at 1 am on March 24 at the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong. According to a statement, the Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to Postal Services for their redressal. “Written complaints may be sent through Ordinary Post or Speed Post with the subject ‘Dak Adalat’ superscribed on the cover, addressed to the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong-793001. The complaints should contain full details like complete address and registration receipt number, etc. For complaints about Savings Schemes and Postal Life Insurances, the account number, policy number and full address of the depositor/insurer should be given,” the statement said.

Unclaimed body
A body of an unknown male person was on March 8 evening recovered from the footpath in Naspati Ghari, Cantonment Area. Subsequently, inquest and other legal formalities were observed and the body, following the autopsy, has been kept at Shillong Civil Hospital morgue for identification and claim. According to a statement, the deceased is approximately 40-45 years old, is approximately 5’4″ tall, has a swarthy complexion, and was found wearing a grey T-shirt, dark blue jacket and a pair of khaki pants. In this regard, all concerned have been asked to contact 0364-2575505 or 0364-2222214 for identification and claim of the body.
