Shillong, March 12: After a woman claimed foul-play in the death of actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik, police have started an investigation.

The woman identified as Saanvi Malu who is the wife of businessman and Kuber Group director Vikas Malu in a letter accused her husband of murdering Satish Kaushik after which police came into action. The actor reportedly suffered a heart attack and was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Malu’s written complaint regarding the foul-play in the death of Satish Kaushik was received in Southwest District. The woman will be called to record her statement.

Kaushik, who died on March 9 at the age of 66, was at Malu’s farmhouse in Delhi when he complained of uneasiness and was rushed to the hospital.

Saanvi Malu in her letter alleged that the actor had loaned her husband Rs 15 crore and had also met him to get his money back. But the two allegedly entered into a heated argument and Vikas promised to return the money.

The complainant claimed that she suspected foul play as Vikas could have poisoned the actor.

Police have however ruled out any foul play in Kaushik’s death as his postmortem report suggested the actor died of a heart attack.
