SHILLONG, March 23: The government is making all-out efforts to identify and nab the accused who had allegedly stabbed 25-year-old Zacharia Sohthiang near Hotel Pegasus at Police Bazar recently.
Replying to a query raised by Mawlai MLA Brightstarwell Marbaniang during the Zero Hour, Deputy Chief Minister and minister in-charge of Home (Police) department Prestone Tynsong on Thursday said, “The facts about the case will be shared with all the stakeholders as and when the investigation discovers the real cause of the incident.”  Tynsong said there are several reports which have appeared about the stabbing case that are inconsonant with the report of the police.
Appealing to the concerned citizens to refrain from circulating disinformation on social media and let the law take its own course, Tynsong assured that police are doing their best to unearth the facts relating to the case and deliver justice to the victim.
Earlier, Marbaniang had observed that the stabbing incident had once again raised fear among the people in the city.
