Tura, April 6: The All Meghalaya Minorities Students’ Union (AMMSU) on Thursday resented that no candidates from the non-tribal category were selected for personal interview, during the recruitment for various posts by the police department held recently and demanded that the already finalized list be rectified with inclusion of those from the said community.

The union made the demand in its complaint to the IGP cum Chairman, Central Recruitment Board in Shillong.

The recruitment was conducted for various posts like UBSL, UBC, ABC/BNC, MPRO, Fireman, Driver Fireman, Driver Constable, Follower etc. The union alleged that the state’s Reservation Policy has not been followed or the recruitment done as per the Roster System as directed by the HC order.

“We demand that the list is rectified immediately with the inclusion of candidates who are deserving bonafide residents of Meghalaya,” the union said.
