Shillong, April 6: In Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, three men have been arrested after they allegedly caught a snake, bit off its head, and recorded the incident on mobile phone.

Environmental activists informed the Wildlife Crime Control authorities after the video went viral on social media.

Mohan, Surya, and Santosh, three men from Kainur, are accused of torturing and killing the snake while also recording the incident.

Mohan is seen holding the snake in the video and shouting that it bit his hand and that he would take revenge. Mohan refuses listen to his associates who urge him to leave the snake and bites off its head.

As they get a close-up of the snake’s bleeding body and separated head on camera, the three people can be heard laughing.

Following the incident, Arcot Ranger was called, who then arrested the accused. The accused have been charged of killing a wild animal and committing animal cruelty.
