SHILLONG, April 12: Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Home (Police), Prestone Tynsong on Wednesday said that the state government intends to fill up all the vacant posts in the Police department by the end of this year.
Admitting that there is a shortfall of manpower in the department, he said, “About 1,000 plus personal interviews have been lined up within the next three-four days and immediately after the recruitment process is over we are again going to advertise for around 1,500 posts.”
Around 2,000 posts have been lying vacant in the department for the past many years.
