The Executive Engineer of Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited, West Khasi Hills Division, Rajib Datta has informed that the 20 MVA power transformers at 132 KV grid substation at Nongyndeng will be shut down from 9 am of April 21 to 9 am of April 23. Speaking to media persons, Datta informed that the shutdown has been necessitated in view of the filtration works of the power transformer. He added that all areas under West Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills will be affected and that there will be no electricity supply during the period.

Unclaimed body
A body of an adult male person has been lying unclaimed at Ampati Civil Hospital after his semi-clad body was found in a jungle at Balalgre village under Damalgre PS of Rerapara C&RD Block in South West Garo Hills on Tuesday morning. The deceased, aged 35 years, has been identified as Prodip Sangma. The family members and relatives of the deceased have been requested to claim the body.
