SHILLONG, May 4: Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, during his two-day visit in Meghalaya, also visited the Border Outpost Dawki of Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya Frontier, and held interactions with field commanders and troops on ground.
Inspector General (IG) of BSF, Meghalaya Frontier, Pradip Kumar, briefed the minister about the area of responsibility of the Frontier, various challenges along the Indo-Bangladesh border and measures being taken to control trans-border crimes.
The MoS also took stock of operational preparedness in order to make the Indo-Bangladesh border crime-free.
The Union MoS also applauded the efforts, intrepid bravery and dedication of the BSF personnel in safeguarding the international borders.
