Programme
The Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club in collaboration with Arts & Culture department and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt of India, will celebrate the 162nd birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore as ‘Brookside Tagore Utsav’ at 10 am on Tuesday at Brookside Complex, Rilbong. The programme will be attended by North-Eastern Hill University Vice Chancellor Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla and South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
The Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club will celebrate the 162nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore at 7:30 am on Tuesday at Jitbhumi, Rilbong. According to a statement here, the programme will be attended by Prof. Sanjoy Mukherjee of IIM Shillong as the chief guest.

Office-bearers
Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, on Sunday held its annual general body meeting and elected its office-bearers for the year 2023-2024. According to a statement here, Pankaj Deb has been elected as president, Sagar Nandi and Joy Bhattacharjee as vice presidents, Rajdeep Das as general secretary, Sumit Chakraborty, Dilip Chanda, Sujal Dey, Ranjit Singh and Khimraj Joshi as executive members, among others. The Club has informed that it will also celebrate Rabindra Jayanti on Tuesday at its premises. Similarly, it will also organise the 13th Inter Shillong Cultural Event 2023 every Sunday from June 11.
A joint general meeting of lawyers belonging to different bar associations from all five districts of Garo Hills was recently held during which the All Garo Hills Advocates’ Union was constituted. Office-bearers to the Union were also elected, which include Challang Artius Ch Marak as president, Jipson R Marak as vice president, Jerrill R Marak as secretary, David G Marak and Rongsang A Sangma as joint secretaries, among others.
The Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association, in its recently held 23rd general meeting, elected its office-bearers for the term 2023-2024. According to a statement here, Dr WMW Khongwir has been elected as president, Dr. M Kharchandy, Dr P Blahwar and Dr Nokman Sangma have been elected as vice presidents, Dr Banteilang Wanswett as general secretary, Dr David T Sun as publicity secretary-cum-editor, Dr D Kharumnuid as treasurer, and seven other executive members.
The Meghalaya Taekwondo Association recently constituted a new executive committee during its meeting, following which the office-bearers were elected. According to statement here, Eugene K Marak was elected as president, Colin Marak and Osmond Sangma as vice presidents, Jadumani Singh as general secretary, Jitumani Bagdas and Chibaitmi Langstang as joint secretaries, among others.
