47 students from Ri-Bhoi school inducted as Guides

NONGPOH, June 7: A total of 47 students were officially inducted as Guides in the Bharat Scouts & Guides during a programme at Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Higher Secondary School in Nongpoh on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by District School Education Officer (DSEO) of Ri-Bhoi, Paidolyne Lyngdoh Nonglai, Sub Divisional School Education Officer R Dkhar among others.
The fresh inductees were handed over the traditional Scouts and Guides scarves and shoulder badges by the DSEO.
The Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Higher Secondary School Scouts and Guides team has a long-standing history, having been established on August 16, 1991, with a modest group of 21 students. Over the years, the team has grown and flourished, with their outstanding achievements recognised at both regional and national levels.
Till date, an impressive total of 32 Guides from Ri Bhoi Presbyterian Higher Secondary School have been conferred with the prestigious President’s award, while 66 Guides have received the Governor’s award.
