Female enrolment in IIM’s management prog sees increase
SHILLONG, June 21: The IIM Shillong recently registered 370 participants for its 16th batch of Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management. According to a statement here, out of the total participants, female participants represent 51.6% while male participants account for 48.4% of the enrolment. “Notably, the enrolment of female students has witnessed a remarkable increase of over 100% compared to 2022, making IIM Shillong one of the preferred destinations for young MBA aspirants,” the statement said. Meanwhile, IIM Shillong Director, Prof. DP Goyal, acknowledged that the institute has maintained its position as one of the preferred destinations for higher studies, attracting students from various backgrounds. Highlighting the significant increase in the number of female participants for the programme, he said, “This increase in female representation reflects the trust placed in the younger generation and their eagerness to pursue education at IIM Shillong.”

Following plaints, city petrol pump closed down
Shillong, June 21: The Meghalaya Youth Federation (MYF) on Wednesday closed down the M/s Mahavir and Company petrol pump at Lad Demthring after complaints from the customers. A member of the MYF claimed that the petrol, which is sold in the aforesaid petrol pump, is adulterated. According to the MYF, many customers have complained that their vehicles and two-wheelers had broken down immediately after refueling petrol from the aforesaid petrol pump. The Federation added that this is the second such complaint against the petrol pump in question.
