Shillong, June 25: A developer working with the Apple Vision Pro headset has discovered its capability to create and display controls on any surface within the user’s surroundings.
According to AppleInsider, developer Steve Troughton Smith found that the headset enables users to select a surface in their field of view and position any app to appear on that chosen surface.
Troughton Smith demonstrated this feature using the Apple Music app, but it appears that any app and controls could be utilized in a similar manner.
“For instance, instead of relying on Apple’s virtual keyboard for extended typing sessions, users could turn their desk into a keyboard,” the report noted.
Additionally, the first developer beta of visionOS reportedly includes a hidden feature called ‘Travel Mode’ designed to enhance the in-flight experience for users of the Vision Pro spatial computer.
The introduction of Travel Mode suggests that Apple aims to provide a smoother experience for VR devices in the limited space and unique environmental conditions of an airplane cabin.
Earlier this month, Apple unveiled the Vision Pro headset, set to be priced at $3,499 and expected to be available in early 2024, starting with the United States.
