Wanted criminal Gufran killed in encounter with UP STF

Shillong, June 27:  In an early morning encounter in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, a notorious criminal named Gufran, wanted in multiple murder and dacoity cases, was shot and killed by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF). The incident occurred around 5 am, and Gufran was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Gufran had been involved in more than 13 cases of murder, loot, and robbery in Pratapgarh and Sultanpur. Both Prayagraj and Sultanpur police had announced a reward of Rs 1,25,000 for any information leading to his capture.

SP Kaushambi Brijesh Srivastava stated, “Mo. Gufran, a criminal, was killed in an encounter with the UP STF near the Samda sugar mill of Manjhanpur, Kaushambi. He had a reward of Rs 1,25,000 on his head.”
