NONGPOH, June 27: A shocking case of alleged murder at Kyrdemkulai village in Ri-Bhoi District has come to light.
The incident occurred on the night of June 25 when police, alerted to the scene, found a couple lying in a pool of blood inside their house in the village. The wife, identified as Beena Sunar, had succumbed to her injuries while her husband was found alive but in critical state.
Incidentally the husband, Keshab Sunar, has been named as the prime accused in the case.
Sunar was rushed to Umsning CHC for medical treatment but due to the severity of his condition, he was subsequently referred to Shillong civil hospital.
The wife’s body was transferred to Nongpoh civil hospital for necessary medico-legal procedures related to the case.
The elder sister of the accused has filed an FIR at Nongpoh police station. Police have seized the alleged weapons used in the attack. Additionally, a post-mortem examination was conducted on the victim’s body to gather vital evidence before it was handed over to the family for the final rites.
While police are diligently working to uncover the truth behind the incident, the inquiry has been hindered as Sunar was reportedly comatose in the hospital.
