ANTF seizes 20 boxes of heroin from 2 women

KHLIEHRIAT, July 16: Heroin was recovered from two women occupants of a vehicle at Nongsning village, East Jaintia Hills.
On receiving inputs that two women with contraband, travelling in a commercial vehicle (MZ 4 A 2997), were heading towards Khliehriat from Silchar, Assam, the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) team along with officers from Khliehriat police station conducted naka checking at Nongsning village and intercepted the vehicle.
The two women were detained and search was conducted by a female police personnel in the presence of independent witnesses.
After the search, 20 boxes (10 each) of suspected heroin were found strapped to their bodies. Preliminary test showed positive result for heroin. Besides the heroin, two mobile phones were also seized from the ladies identified as Hoihoi Hanhal (35) and Lhing Hohoi (40) both residents of Langol disitrct, Imphal, West Manipur.

Police in West Garo Hills on Sunday arrested two persons and recovered drugs from their possession.
Acting on credible source information that adrug peddler, Tobit G Momin (40) was intercepted at 8th Mile, Upper Damalgre, PS – Araimile along with Savio S Marak (48) who was coming on a bike (AS-01F-7056) from Garobadha side. During the operation, 14 suspected Yaba tablets and Rs 5020 in cash was recovered from his possession. Later, on the lead by Tobit G Momin, another 16 numbers of Pyeevon Spas Plus capsules and Rs 23,000 in cash were recovered from his house. The contraband, cash and the bike were seized and both persons arrested.
